Fouesnant Apartments & Villas (Brittany)
Fouesnant is a small town next to the Brittany coast in the lovely area surrounded by other small towns such as Pont l'Abbe, Benodet and Concarneau. It is only 15 km south of the larger town of Quimper. This really is a small haven of nature and peace and quiet in a central location of Concarneau bay. We would recommend renting your Brittany vacation villa or holiday apartment here or in one of the nearby small towns like La Foret Fouesnant.
The area is known for its traditional lace which is still worn during festivals and is claimed to be the finest in Brittany. In the centre of town, the Saint-Pierre church is a masterpiece of Roman architecture and dates from the eleventh century. Fouesnant is also great for those that love the countryside as it is surrounded by woods, bogs and beaches.
The biggest beach is at Beg Meil which is surrounded by woods with Cyprus trees and Sea Pine. The beach itself is long and sandy and still unspoilt by development. As you travel in the direction of la pointe du Mousterlin, you’ll find that the beaches become more and more deserted and natural. On the other side of Fouesnant you’ll find a pretty port named La Foret-Fouesnant. It’s a little village that hardly gets visited… full of fresh air and tranquillity.
Don’t leave Fouesnant without having tasted the marvellous local cider, which of course is the best in the world. Fierce storms at the end of the century reduced the number of apple trees available, so this cider is precious. Drink it respectfully.
