Normandy Villas, Apartments and Cottages

Normandy is the closest region of France to the UK with easy access by ferry to the ports of Le Havre and Cherbourg as well as the Channel Tunnel which arrives near Calais. A huge number of tourists and cars come through this region even if they are only passing through or visiting for a day to stock up on good French Food and Wine. Many people do stay and rent accommodation in one of our Normandy Villas or Normandy Cottages in the countryside or near a town, or take an apartment in Normandy for holiday rental.

The Viking conquered and settled in this area and this is where the name derived from; the ‘Northmen’ of the ninth century. The coast facing England has been made more famous as it was the scene on the Allied landings in 1944 during the Second World war and today is still visited by many who reflect on this poignant occasion. Today the region is home to about three-and-a-half million people. The basis of Normandy is a combination of agricultural, including cattle breeding, cider making and Calvados, and industrial including three nuclear power stations. Of course Tourism is a big contributor to the local economy.

Normandy has some very interesting towns such as Le Mont St Michel, a bizarre island linked to the mainland with a causeway, and with a tidal bay cutting it off each day when the sea rushes inland and the sand becomes dangerous. One of the treasures worth visiting is the Bayeux Tapestry in the town of the same name; this is a 70 mete long tapestry (wool on linen) depicting the Battle of Hastings in 1066 when the Normans successfully invaded the British Isles. The city of Rouen is also worth a visit and it is the capital of Normandy.

Whether you want to rent a Normandy Villa in the lovely countryside, a Normandy Cottage by the sea, or stay in an Apartment in Normandy, we have a solution for you.
